  5. This utility can only be used on TRG Pro handhelds only!
  6. Won't run at all on other Palm units, or if no CF card is
  7. inserted in the TRG Pro.

  10. CF2DOC is a simple DOC<->text converter between RAM and flashcards.
  11. It now operates in two modes:
  12.  
  13.  
  14. 1) CF MODE:
  15. -----------
  16.  
  17. Select CF from the mode selection button located on the bottom left of
  18. the screen. All the files and directories of the CF card should appear
  19. on the screen. Simply select a text file and tap the CONVERT button. The
  20. selected file will be converted to a DOC format file and will be installed
  21. in RAM.

  23. The converted file in RAM will have the same filename as the original
  24. text file in the flashcard. You can then use any of the available DOC
  25. readers to view it.

  27. * Directories are shown as '\directory name'
  28.   Tap on them to change them.
  29.  
  30. * Converted file will overwrite file with the same name in RAM
  31.   with no warning.
  32.  
  33. * Make sure you have enough memory before converting a large
  34.   text file.
  35.  
  36. * Unexpected results may occur if you try to convert binary files!
  37.   Use the "Preview" feature to make sure the file is not binary.

  41. 2) RAM MODE:
  42. ------------

  44. First enter CF mode (CF button) and select the destination directory.
  45. Then press the RAM button. All the DOC files that are installed on your
  46. TRG Pro should appear on the screen. Simply tap the file you want to
  47. convert and copy as a text file to the CF card, and press the CONVERT button.

  49. The converted file will be written to the previously selected directory.
  50. If the file already existed, it will be over written.

  52. CF2DOC can not convert compressed DOC files at this moment (maybe in
  53. a later release).

  57. 3) Other features:
  58. ------------------

  60. From the Options menu there's the "Delete file!" feature. When used,
  61. the currently selected file (or DOC) will be deleted (no questions asked).

  63. The "Preview" button lets you view the first 8 lines of the currently
  64. selected file (or DOC).
